Tilman Pass Trekking 19 Days

Tilman Pass is  located between Langtang trekking region and non touristic, remote and wild Panch Pokhari trekking region near Tibet border of north Nepal. Tilman Pass Trek lays in a remote and wild part of the Himalayas of Langtang region, which offers you the Langsisha-Ri Glacier, Five sacred Lakes of Panch Pokhari and the extremely remote Jugal Himal. This trekking route is recently introduced; non touristic, not frequent trekking route in Nepal.

Langtang Tilman Pass trek is also known as the Jugal and Panch Pokhari trekking - a set of five small lakes - ensconced in a vast boulder-strewn amphitheatre, where we encamp near the small temple to Vishnu, a place of pilgrimage for local Hindus from the surrounding Helambu region. It is also known as homeland of the blue sheep and the Red Panda.

Langtang Tilman pass trekking connects with two different Himalaya region including the Langtang and Panch pokhari (Five holy lake) where you will enjoy and see panoramic Himalayan views of Langtang and Lirung, Langtang Himal, Naya Khanga, Yala peak, Ganesh Himal, Langshisa, Gaurishanker, Dorjelakpa etc and also green forest with Rhododendron flowers, pine tree plus wild animals /birds such as Mountain Thars,Bears, Leopard, Jackal, Monkeys, wild peaks, pheasant, peacock and holy five makes the tour intense. Langtang Tilman pass trekking is tranquil for the trekkers who willingly desire to possess pleasure from nature in the remote area. Tilman pass trekking offers a wide varieties of flora,fauna, multi ethnic cultures,tamang villages influenced by Tibetan culture,local cultivation in terrain green valley of Langtang Village and Helambu Village. Langtang Tilman Pass trekking offers you mixed culture; Bramin, Chhetri, Tamang Tibetan Sherpa who produces scrumptious cheese.

This trek starts at Dhunche or Syabrubensi after 6 hours driving from Kathmandu and ends at Chautara of Sindhupalchok district. Langtang Tilman Pass trekking we drive through ripe, golden-yellow, paddy fields and lush sub-tropical vegetation to the road head at the Syabru Bensi and we end the trek at Chautara. The trekkers can discover the virgin and rocky trekking trails continue walk from Kyangjinggompa way along to gorge of Langsisa Kharka and left side is standing Mount Dorje Lakpa Himal. Then you will reach in Panch Pokhari five sacred holy lakes of Hindu pilgrims after Tilman Pass altitude of 5350m.
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
As you advent to this sacred land undoubtedly you will horde your reminiscence with accumulating blissful experiences you can ever clutch anywhere else from. Historically treasured, culturally rich as well as naturally boon Kathmandu welcomes you with all its heart. As soon as you step here you will be greeted by our Earth Matter Trek`s authentic member. You after then will be escorted to the luxurious hotel where you will be provided a welcome cuisine and you will overnight stay there.

Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley
Today after having breakfast we will take you to the most admired sightseeing areas of Kathmandu which is proud as well as pride of Nepalese people. You will relish an ancient treasure Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and  Swayambhunath Stupa which reflects the local culture and tradition of Nepalese society. We will take you back to the hotel where you will spend overnight.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Chautara (1450m) 3 hrs
After breakfast we will drive by road to the trailhead at Chautara.

Day 4 - 5: Commence trek to Kami Kharka (2810m)
We commence our trek with a long ridge climb, during these early days of the trek we pass through Hindu, Tamang and Sherpa villages. This region has extensive rhododendron, pine and fir forests.
Day 6 - 7: To Pauwa Pass (3000m / 6hrs) & Hile Bhanjyang (3400m / 4.5hrs)
We continue along the ridge climb with fabulous views east and west of a chain of mountains that form a natural border to Tibet. W.H. Tilman was the first European to explore this region in 1949, and very few have ever retraced his footsteps.

Day 8 - 9: To Nasim Pati (3700m / 4hrs) & Panch Pokhari (4074m / 3hrs)
Panch Pokhari is named after 5 holy ponds and thousands of pilgrims climb to the sacred Panch Pokhari Lakes during the monsoon. There is a Mahadev Temple located here and from the top of Panch Pokhari we gain views of the Jugal Himal and Rolwaling.

Day 10 -11:  To Tin Pokhari (4255m)
We are now well above the treeline as we make a short climb from Panch Pokhari to the ridgeline and continue north crossing spurs and basins until we descend into a valley and a final climb to Tin Pokhari.
Day 12 -13: Cross Tilman Pass (5308m) to north high camp (4720m)
There are two routes through the lower rocky section of the pass and it will depend on conditions as to which one we choose to ascend. This is quite a challenging pass and there will be loose rock and scree to negotiate. Once we reach a steep rock face after the initial climb we traverse to the left and climb directly onto the snowfield of the pass. The pass is to the northwest of the snowfield. We then descend a steep snow slope and rocky gullies,care should be take here as the gullies can be icy. We may fix a handline and your leader will advise the plan after assessing the conditions. The pass crossing will be a long day of approx. 7-9 hours. We camp at the northern shore of a lake.

Day 14: To Kyangjin Gompa (3830m) 7hrs
We are now approaching the main Langtang Trail to Kyangjin Gompa where there are many teahouses. There is a nearby cheese factory that is well worth a visit and of course a visit to the Gompa. There is a viewpoint on a hill to the north of Kyangjin Gompa with prayer flags adorning the summit, and time permitting this is a great vantage point also worth the effort.

Day 15 - 16: To Ghoratabela (3030m) & Syabru Besi (1503m)
We are now travelling along the clearly marked main trail of the Langtang trek. Following the river we wind through many teahouses and small villages to the end of the trail at Syabru Besi.

Day 17: Drive Back to Kathmandu
We meet our transportation after breakfast for the drive back to Kathmandu. After stepping down on Kathmandu we will escort you to the hotel for rest and overnight stay there.

Day 18: Rest Day in Kathmandu
A day of rest and relaxation, you can go for shopping and sightseeing. After breakfast we will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square. After Kathmandu Durbar Square we will be visiting Swoyambhunath Stupa. Swoyambhunath is believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago. Swoyambhunath has developed into an important center of Buddhism. Our next destination is Patan Durbar square after then we will proceed for sightseeing tour to Great Stupa of Boudhanath. In the evening we will have fare well dinner together at an Authentic Nepalese restaurant.

Day 19: Departure
Our splendid journey in Nepal abolishes here and we will convoy you to the airport according to your scheduled flight and bid you farewell.
